September 26, 2026 – Shrine Social Club Ballroom
Amoeba Arena is a prized possession in Boise’s music scene and is unfortunately taking an indefinite hiatus from playing shows. I was lucky enough to attend their farewell show, which was also their longest set they’ve played, taking place in the Shrine Social Club ballroom on September 26th. This show was also their album release party for their album, Spring Ceremonial, that they dropped the same day. The openers: Anyone Awake, Winterforever, and
Fleeting Confidence were fantastic with an engaging stage presence and high energy.
Before the show, University Pulse got the chance to interview Amoeba Arena where the band shared with us that they recorded their album, Spring Ceremonial, on stage in the Shrine Ballroom which I thought was a really cool detail and made it even more special that I was able to see them perform on that same stage.
Right off the bat the crowd was ecstatic to see Fleeting Confidence step on stage. This was my first time seeing them perform and safe to say I will be looking out for their future shows. Winter Forever had a similar energy to them and were also incredibly talented. Anyone Awake played a phenomenal set. It was also my first time seeing them and they did not disappoint either. During each band’s set, they had kind words to say and gratitude to outreach to Amoeba Arena which gave the show a sense of unity in the crowd as well as on stage
The room was buzzing with anticipation for Amoeba Arena and they really delivered. Playing their longest set to date, they played fan favorites, classics, as well as new songs and it was all exceptional. You could really feel the love for the music as well as their friendship with one another throughout their performance.
Drummer, Colin Singh, is a member of Amoeba Arena as well as Fleeting Confidence playing a total of 25 songs that night! It was amazing to see how his playing style fit into the styles of the two bands. As well as sharing a drummer, the two bands released a shared EP, AAxFC, and brought members of Fleeting Confidence on stage during Amoeba Arena’s set to perform a fan favorite off of the EP, “Screenagers”.
Overall the show was a 10/10, all the bands brought their best and there was a fantastic energy throughout the night. I would 100% recommend seeing any of these bands in the future.
Not only are the members of Amoeba Arena bandmates but also close friends. As Amoeba Arena’s guitarist and occasional vocalist, Jeremiah Jensen, shared during University Pulse’s interview, the band is taking a hiatus for the right reasons and he is proud of the band and proud of the friends he’s made because of it. During this bittersweet show, I could really feel the sense of community that Amoeba Arena has built as well as the immeasurable impact they’ve had on the music scene of Boise and they will be missed.
